The Games Park showed modern developments in the games industry:
- the winners of the European Innovative Games Awards (EIGA) 2008 presented games applications, consols and concepts in the fields of education, health und sports as well as retrospective automats of the digital games culture.
The Innovation Park offered besides the themes of ambient technologies, eInclusion, satellite navigation and software engineering among others the following highlights:
- The IT security forum demonstrated security-oriented tasks and solutions.
- The Auto-ID forum focussed parts of the logistical process within a supply chain in cooperation with the industry-oriented association AIM-Deutschland. As an example barcodes, 2D Codes and RFID were illustrated for the labelling of products and transport containers.
- The 3D-forum demonstrated innovative technologies for the industrial use of virtual and augmented reality. Complex industrial production arrangements could be operated at the Multi Touch Table by simple navigation with one's fingers.
The E-Skills Park offered IT-competences for young and old people:
- 16 exploration stations of the exhibition „Abenteuer Informatik – Informatik begreifen“ invited to an entertainig tour. How does a navigation computer count? Why can a DVD with scratches still play? Why do so many digital pictures fit on a memory card? The following attractions of the exhibition „Abenteuer Informatik – Informatik begreifen“ have been offered free of charge:
- for teachers an accredited workshop on 06.11.2008, 10-17 h, and
- for school classes a visiting period on 07.11.2008, 11.30-17 h. - Of the inventor of the computer Konrad Zuse from Hessen the Graphomat, which is the first CAD system of the world, could be observed
- … and the visitors could learn how to design barrier-free websites.
E-Commerce consultations and website checks were offered of the Hessian competence centres BIEG (Frankfurt), EC-M (Gießen) and ECCN (Kassel) at their collective stand. A website check analyses the opportunity to improve a website.
